Capture images, record video, and share online – all for free!
From the makers of SnagIt and Camtasia Studio, Jing offers teachers the ability to simply select an area of your computer screen, capture it as an image or record it as a video, and then click Share. Your content is hosted on Screencast.com and Jing conveniently gives you a URL to your content that you can paste anywhere you want. Jing offers teachers a way to create tutorials of anything they do on their computer’s desktop and then post these tutorials on CranNet or Moodle so your students can access them at any time.
An avatar is a digital representation of yourself that you can use personalize and use when interacting with students or friends online. By changing hairstyles, clothes, accessories, and backgrounds, you can create your own unique persona. Avatars are used in online chats, video conferencing, and virtual reality sites (like Second Life). Avatars are intended to make the computing or network environment a more friendly place. Our students are designing their own avatars to communicate with each other on sites like MySpace and Facebook. Educators and students are using avatars to communicate with each other in online learning environments like Moodle, Blackboard, and Michigan’s Virtual High School.
